On the Nightstand: Unsheltered

My sister has been, well, my sister for decades and my roommate for nearly sixteen years. Yet we’ve never read a new-to-both-of-us book at the same time. We’re changing that up this month by reading Barbara Kingsolver’s Unsheltered, about two families who lived in a New Jersey home a century apart. I’ve enjoyed several other Kingsolver titles, and am looking forward to this one.
Yes, I’m still doing spiritual reading, mainly autobiographies and biographies of male saints. But for April, I thought I’d share what else is on my nightstand for a change!
What’s on your nightstand?

  1. I LOVED Unsheltered! Kingsolver is one of my favorites. Currently on my nightstand is the new book by another fave: Ann Patchett. I’m reading (and thoroughly enjoying) The Dutch House. Bonus: it is set in Elkins Park, PA, where I live!

  2. Thanks, Melanie and Christine. I forgot there is a new Patchett book — was waiting for paperback and then it slipped my mind. My nightstand: The Course of All Treasons by Catholic writer Suzanne M. Wolfe — an Elizabethan spy murder mystery. I don’t really care who done it, but the good writing makes it a page-turner. And I just re-read Alice in Wonderland.
