St. Colette: 2014 Daily Lenten Reflections

St. Colette was born on January 13, 1381, in France, and died in Belgium on this date in 1447. She’s known for her efforts to return the Order of the Poor Clares to its simpler days of poverty and austerity, including 0306-Coletteadvising her followers to go barefoot and fast frequently.

Colette said: “If there be a true way that leads to the everlasting kingdom, it is most Woman On Her Cell Phonecertainly that of suffering, patiently endured.”

Lent is a time of reflecting on Christ’s suffering and ultimate sacrifice for us. While these days we tend to focus more on what we can add to our lives to reflect him to others, think about what one small nicety you can give up this season in the manner of St. Colette.

If you’d like a daily reminder to visit the site to read the reflection, you can sign up here. A short daily YouTube video also will be available, and you can subscribe for a reminder on that here.
