St. Hunna: 2014 Daily Lenten Reflections

St. Hunna died about 679 in France, and today is her feast day.hunna_lent2014_20140415

Hunna was known as the “holy washerwoman” because even though she was the wife of a duke, her focus was on serving the poor and of helping all, rich or poor, with their laundry.

Verses 3 and 4 from Psalm 51 seem appropriate today. This is also my favorite psalm: “Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions. Thoroughly wash away my guilt; and from my sin cleanse me.”CB041752

It’s been a long, hard winter for many of us, and spring cleaning is a welcome activity. How about spending a little time today on spring cleaning your soul as well? Scrub out some of the dirt that’s settled in during the winter.

If you’d like a daily reminder to visit the site to read the reflection, you can sign up here. A short daily YouTube video also will be available, and you can subscribe for a reminder on that here.
