| Melanie with Anna LaNave at the Catholic Information
Center. |
From December 2009
to Easter 2010, I was focused on promoting When They Come Home:
Ways to Welcome Returning Catholics. The Arlington
Catholic Herald interviewed my co-author Anna LaNave and me
about the book and how to minister to returning Catholics. We also
wrote an article on the topic for Catholic
Digest and were interviewed by Gus Lloyd’s "Seize
the Day" program,
which is part of Sirius Satellite Radio's Catholic Channel. Anna
and I also have talked about this topic on Lift High the Cross, a Fairfax
County, Virginia, local-access television channel.
In addition, I was interviewed by Catholic News Service.
And, I shared some do’s and
don’ts for interacting
with those away from the Church in a chat with Jerry Klein,
a college classmate who is now chancellor of the Diocese of Sioux Falls,
South Dakota, where I grew up.
Michele
Huey, my dear writing group buddy and friend, interviewed me about
writing and faith and where they intersect in my life.
I also speak at six to eight writers’ conferences per year on topics ranging
from creativity to book proposals to marketing to self-editing. If you’d
like to see where I’ll be speaking in upcoming months, please
visit my consultancy site, Editor
for You. That site also has downloadable photos, a list
of topics on which I present, testimonials, and a bio for conference planners.
